When operating a dental practice, you are so focused on the day-to-day running of the business it can be challenging to know where you’re positioned within the market and if the challenges you’re facing are unique.
BDO’s team of dental industry experts invite practice owners to participate in the BDO Dental Owner’s Survey. The purpose of this survey is to analyse the financial performance of dental practices over the last six months and gauge owner’s expectations for the next 12 months.
With increasing inflation and a decline in discretionary spending it is a challenging time for the industry. By participating in this survey, we will provide you with a report which includes accurate, national insights on the trends and financial benchmarks.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and all survey responses will be anonymous, and any information provided will kept strictly private and confidential.
To maintain anonymity while still providing you with our report, after completing the survey you will be directed back to a form to enter your contact details on the BDO website. This allows us to store your responses separately to your contact details.
The survey closes on 30 September.
Information required to complete survey
The survey includes a range of questions regarding your practice, your staff and your future expectations. The survey includes specific questions in relation to the practice billings and financial performance for the last six months.
In order to complete the survey you will need access to both your practice management system (e.g. D4W, Exact) and your accounting software (e.g. Xero or MYOB). The specific information/report you will need to have access to is:
Practice Management Software:
- Total Patient Fees (e.g. - Invoices and Receipts over a Period or Activity Summary Report)
- New Patients
- Unique Patient Visits
Financial Software:
- Profit and Loss for the Period: 1 January 2022 – 31 March 2022
- Profit and Loss for the Period: 1 April 2022 – 30 June 2022
