Ana Espinal-Rae

Ana is a Director within the National Audit Quality team, which enables an audit and assurance environment that inspires others.

With over 10 years of experience in accounting, audit and assurance, and learning and development, and a passion for organisational behaviour, Ana works to embed a culture of quality across the audit service line by encouraging questioning, collaboration and consultation.

She collaborates with the global network on projects driving quality within audit and assurance, and regularly presents webinars internally and externally on audit quality matters. She is known for her friendly, approachable nature and technical expertise.

With a specific interest in ensuring complete, accurate and useful Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, she is also working with the global network on developing an ESG assurance framework with supporting policies, procedures, and resources.

• Presentation design and delivery – nationally and internationally
• Advisory services on contentious audit technical matters
• Development of tools and resources to facilitate the application of audit and assurance standards
• Influencing BDO Global audit initiatives and policies
• Supporting the ongoing transformation of audits in a dynamic environment
